How do we do it

AT TAAP FOUNDATION WE HAVE DIVERSE FIELDS OF ACTION THAT ALLOW US TO MULTIPLY OUR IMPACT THROUGH DIRECT WORK IN COMMUNITIES, COMMUNICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND THE CREATION OF LEARNING ECOSYSTEMS.

PEACEBUILDING

PEACEBUILDING
ArteTecas
  • The ArteTecas are pedagogical modules developed by the TAAP Foundation to provide parents and educators with content, tools and materials that allow them to work with children on issues related to Human Rights, Children’s Rights and Peacebuilding.

ArteTecas brings together a series of activities that use the visual arts to promote the development of children’s thinking and their ability to live together peacefully. This is achieved thanks to the relationship between the visual arts and learning. The mothers who receive this training are also trained to develop pedagogical undertakings for the children in their community.

PEACEBUILDING WORKSHOPS FOR EDUCATORS, SOCIAL LEADERS AND PARENTS
  • Peacebuilding workshops allow educators, caregivers and social leaders to learn the theory about the different types of violence that affect children, youth and women in the communities. As well as the strategies and tools to prevent and address them.

COMMUNITIES ECOSYSTEM

PazificArte
  • It is a program created to offer training to children and young people, addressing problematic situations such as drug trafficking and consumption, family abuse and delinquency, and promoting non-violent education guidelines.

The objective of Pazificarte is to foster attitudes of empathy, trust and tolerance in children and young people by learning through art, games and sports, encouraging them to become builders of peace and non-violence. The program also seeks to train young people to become leaders in their communities as actors of a culture of peace, capable of resolving conflicts through communication and mediation.

Pazificarte has been carried out in partnership with Rotary International and Fondacio Colombia.

Juntos por Chocó
  • Under the name “Juntos Por Chocó”, a group of organizations, companies, artists, doctors and citizens have joined forces to support the communities of Chocó in order to transform the complex realities of the territory into projects that aim at sustainable development and well-being in the region, focusing on five lines of action: humanitarian aid, housing, health, creative industries and peace building through the arts.

Promoted by TAAP Foundation, TECHO Colombia, Riaño Producciones, Carolina Guerra, Bloom, Spectrum Energy, the Colombian Aerocivil Patrol, Rotaract and Colombia Cuida Colombia together with a group of doctors and volunteers who participate in the workshops; This alliance has developed health workshops in Riosucio, Opogodó and Condoto, delivered humanitarian aid in 27 of the 30 municipalities of Chocó, built the UBUNTU community center, restored the Opogodo school and provided training in peace building and creative industries through the TAAP Foundation methodology to young people and educators in Condoto.

COMMUNITY STRENGTHENING PROGRAM IN PROVIDENCIA AND SANTA CATALINA
  • The community accompaniment and strengthening proposal for Providencia has been developed by the TAAP Foundation with the objective of providing psychosocial attention to the families that were affected by Hurricane Iota in November 2020, so that they will be able to recover after the experience they lived during the natural disaster and be effectively linked to the recovery processes of the territory.

The project places special emphasis on the care of children, youth, and young adults, combining social learning processes with group and individual therapies.

In this way, it is expected to achieve the greatest possible reach without neglecting the in-depth attention of the cases that require it.

The project is carried out in alliance with Colombia Cuida Colombia, TECHO and La Salle University.

IntegrArte
  • The objective of this program is to attend to migratory grief and train grassroots social organizations, local government representatives and NGOs that work with migrant populations in different territories, so that they can identify and attend to grief through the necessary tools to promote integration, prevent violence, xenophobia and aporophobia against migrants and returnees in the host communities.

In order for migrants to integrate into host communities, they need to have the right support to understand what migration implies from an emotional, social and cultural point of view. This will enable them to understand what is happening to them and facilitate the integration process. IntegrArte, together with the authorities and grassroots organizations, generates and activates protection routes for the migrant population, especially for children, adolescents and women. These routes are aimed at protecting their rights and generating the necessary reception spaces so that they can carry out their regularization and integration processes. The program has a targeting and database analysis platform that allows authorities and organizations to know which migrants are most vulnerable, which families have received support and who require immediate attention, articulating the information to reach the population at risk. To date, this platform has registered and assisted more than 250 thousand Venezuelan migrants in Colombia.

ATTENTION TO AT-RISK POPULATIONS
  • TAAP Foundation works in isolated populations and rural areas with high rates of violence, in many of these populations access to food, health services, supplies and services is limited and scarce, so the organization conducts humanitarian care days that allow the population to meet their basic needs before starting training programs.

From TAAP Foundation, we know how important it is for a child and his family to have adequate nutrition, access to health and clean water, therefore we establish alliances with the Association of Food Banks of Colombia (ABACO), the Medicines Bank, the Colombian Air Patrol, Colombia Cuida Colombia, local governments and private companies in order to meet these pressing needs of the population.

creative industries

CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AND SOCIAL INNOVATION PROGRAM
  • In communities isolated by violence, the development of creative industries is a unique opportunity for at-risk youth and women to develop their creative potential while earning income through the development of artistic and cultural activities that can be marketed within and outside their territory. Therefore, the Creative Industries and Social Innovation program provides training to communities to work with photography, video, video editing, cultural production, and social networks and accompanies them in the development of their digital enterprises.

The program has trained women and young people in the rural area of El Hatillo Municipality in Venezuela, in Magdalena Medio, Chocó, Bogotá and Ocaña in Colombia, and in Jujuy in northern Argentina. More than 70% of those who have participated in the program earn income through digital platforms for creative and content marketing or through the commercialization of cultural products in their communities.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND HUMAN RIGHTS WORKSHOP
  • It has been designed to provide young people with tools that allow them to have another vision of their environment and their future, through the use of photography as a means to analyze and express their perception of different situations in their daily lives.

With this, young people not only learn how to use a camera in its technical aspect, but also develop their analytical skills and find a way to show others through images how they see the world; at the same time they develop a new skill that allows them to generate income as photographers, photojournalists or artists, if they wish.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION WORKSHOP
  • In this innovation and awareness workshop to develop businesses, ventures and processes with positive social impact, we explore the possibilities for young people to become successful leaders and their influence in the global conversation as creative and innovative agents of change. To this end, we provide students with training on innovation, creativity and its use in learning processes and in the formulation of ventures with high social impact that generate alternative income for families, including activities such as sustainable tourism, gastronomy, creative industries, etc.
CREATIVITY WORKSHOP
  • This workshop has been developed to promote creativity in communities, educational centers and companies. Through artistic exploration activities, participants will be able to explore their creative potential and realize how creation can support their well-being and learning processes.
VISUAL ARTS AND CREATIVE WRITING TRAINING WORKSHOPS
  • This workshop provides participants with the tools, techniques and concepts to be able to use video and creative writing as a possible source of income by developing the skills that will enable them to produce videos for events, corporate videos and music videos. Or go into content writing and production. The workshop has been developed mainly so that young people and female heads of household have the opportunity to develop a trade that does not require full-time dedication.

COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION AND IMPACT WORKSHOP
  • In this workshop, leaders of social organizations, social entrepreneurs and public policy makers will explore different innovation and collaboration methodologies to generate social impact.
COMMUNICATION FOR DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL CHANGE WORKSHOP
  • Communication is a fundamental element to generate development. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of the use of communication for social change.

collaboration & advocacy

CAMPAIGN FOR THE RESTITUTION OF RIGHTS TO THE COLOMBIAN-VENEZUELAN POPULATION.

At the beginning of 2022, more than 42,000 ID cards of Colombian-Venezuelan citizens were cancelled by the Colombian National Civil Registry. In thousands of cases the Registraduría did not send the required notifications and argued that these people did not comply with the verification requirements, which is why they were cancelled.

From TAAP Foundation we have verified hundreds of cases in which the people affected by the measure, have all their documentation apostilled, presented their documents in compliance with due process and with witnesses who can attest to their status as children of Colombians. For this reason, a communication and counseling campaign has been developed to support those affected and raise awareness about what happened.

NO SE LO DÉ A CUALQUIERA

No se lo de a cualquiera is the campaign that invites young people in Colombia to participate in the legislative and presidential elections, to recognize themselves as protagonists of the national reality, and agents of change who exercise their right to participate in the politics of their country. The initiative is the result of a collaboration between Ashoka Fellows, a global network of social entrepreneurs with 35 years of experience and presence in 93 countries. Catalina Cock, director of Mi Sangre, Gaby Arenas, director of Fundación TAAP, and Michael Sani of Bite The Ballot, join forces, learning and knowledge to undertake this movement.
